Founded in 1978, Alight is a global humanitarian aid organization that works alongside people displaced by conflict, natural disasters, and social and economic crises.

Taking a collaborative, human-centered approach, we serve 4 million people each year, providing lifesaving healthcare, clean water, shelter, and protection, as well as livelihood programming and education.

Created in celebration of World Refugee Day 2026, Alight's Humanitarian Pop-Up Shop is built around a simple belief: anyone can choose to be a humanitarian. Through thoughtfully designed apparel and everyday essentials, the shop celebrates ordinary people who show up for others with compassion, courage, and action.

We're all one people and the unfortunate thing is some people are born in places where they can't stay, and so sadly migration is necessary. To me , that's the biggest part about being a humanitarian. It is integral to the type of life that I lead, and the community I want to be a part of.”

“My parents and I immigrated here in 2003 from Togo. A lot of my friends are immigrants or refugees and we share similar stories. It just taught me so much about why people move and how that impacts so many decisions that they make in their lives. And especially being in Minneapolis, a lot of the friends that I have are related to a refugee story in some way. Oftentimes refugees and immigrants don't really share their stories because you focus on other things, you don't want to make it about you. So, just always support and be an advocate and do whatever [you can]."
